Things to see and do in the area

Thee is a wealth of things to do and sea in the area around Ledbury, the Wye Valley and the Malvern Hills. Here are a few suggestions.

Goodrich Castle
The castle stands on a hill overlooking the River Wye where it enters Symonds Yat valley. It dates back to the 11th century. There are free audio tours giving a glimpse of a bygone age as you learn about the famous Civil War siege.

St Mary's Church
A delightful Norman church, displaying one of the most outstandingly complete and well preserved sets of medieval wall paintings in England, dating from the 12th and 14th centuries.

Wye Pursuits
Canoe & KayakHire, Climbing, Abseiling, Caving, WW Rafting. Located on the banks of the River Wye at Kerne Bridge, near Ross-on-Wye. On site shop selling refreshments and canoeing equipment.

Monnow Events
Quad bikes, go karts, clay pigeon shooting, archery, stag/hen weekends and children's parties in a 350 acre Kentchurch site in Herefordshire. From just a quick couple of hours, half day events and full day events to weekends.

Inspire is an outdoor adventure activity provider based near Monmouth in the heart of the Wye Valley offering a wide range activities suitable for all such as families, adult groups, youth groups, hen and stag parties. Activities available include: gorge scrambling, high level ropes challenge, canoeing, mountain biking, climbing and abseiling, hill walking and orienteering. Half, full or multi-day experiences.

Butterly Zoo
Walk with butterflies as you explore the incredible and beautiful world of these wonderful creatures. This safari is for everyone with an interest in the environment, and has some wonderful photographic opportunities, come and see!

Greenacres Stables
Greenacres Stables is a small and friendly riding centre situated in Lea, Herefordshire. We are able to offer lessons for all abilities on our range of horses in our large outdoor arena, and we also have access to lots of wonderful hacking in the nearby Forest of Dean.
